Le Tournesol Saint Clar
Bed & Breakfast
Le Tournesol is a charming Bed and Breakfast located in a beautiful old stone village house situated in the heart of Saint Clar, the white garlic capital of France and next to the famous pilgrim walk Le Chemin de Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle ("Camino").
Saint Clar is a picturesque village in the department of the Gers, affectionately known as the French Tuscany, only an hour’s drive from Toulouse airport, two from Bordeaux airport and two and a half hours from the Pyrenees, plus a brilliant stop off for Spain. The Gers is famous for its Armagnac, duck confit, foie gras, melons and of course garlic. This is reflected in the regions exquisite dishes and rolling countryside.
We have three beautiful bedrooms, all completely renovated in classic French country house style. All beds are high quality, generously sized divans. Each has its own private bathroom and beautiful views over the village.
Breakfast is included with your room.
We also offer packed lunch and/or evening meal at your request.
Wifi is available throughout the house.
Our secret garden is a coveted place to catch an afternoon nap among the flowers, or simply watch the humming birds.
We offer shuttle services to our guests e.g. from airport, train station or Camino

THINGS TO DO
The fortified village has the particularity of featuring two squares with arcades: Place de la Mairie, in the middle of which stands a picturesque 13th-century covered market hall, and Place de la République, to the north of which the neo-gothic Church of St. Clair has pride of place.
Lomagne white garlic, a speciality of Saint-Clar, is celebrated every year at the Thursday morning market (on the stalls from July to December), and at the Garlic Festival and Garlic Contest that take place in August. The House of Garlic, based on a typical farm, contains an exhibition on the history and culture of garlic.
